What is an FSSAI License?
The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) is the regulatory body responsible for overseeing food safety in India. An FSSAI license is a legal document that certifies a food business complies with the regulations set by FSSAI under the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006. This license ensures that the food being produced, stored, distributed, or sold meets acceptable standards of quality and hygiene. There are three types of licenses depending on the size and nature of the business: Basic Registration, State License, and Central License.

Who Needs an FSSAI License?
Any individual or company involved in the food industry must obtain an FSSAI license. This includes food manufacturers, processors, packagers, distributors, caterers, and even small street food vendors.
