Transform Your Health with the Intensive Behavioral Therapy

For many Medicare patients struggling with obesity, losing weight isn’t just about appearance—it’s about taking control of your health and preventing serious medical conditions such as diabetes, heart disease, and high blood pressure. At Doctorforlife, we offer the Intensive Behavioral Therapy (IBT) Program, a Medicare-covered solution designed to help patients with a BMI of 30+ lose weight, adopt healthier habits, and achieve lasting wellness.

What is the IBT Program?

The IBT Program is a structured weight loss and lifestyle modification program exclusively for Medicare patients with a BMI of 30 or higher. The goal? To provide you with the tools, guidance, and accountability needed to reach a healthier weight and sustain it long-term.

Why Enroll in IBT?

Obesity is often called a gateway disease because it significantly increases the risk of developing chronic conditions like:

  • Type 2 diabetes

  • High blood pressure

  • Heart disease & stroke

  • Sleep apnea

  • Joint pain & mobility issues

By enrolling in the IBT Program, you’re not just losing weight—you’re taking proactive steps toward a healthier future.

How the IBT Program Works

The IBT Program is a year-long journey (or until you reach a BMI under 30). The program is structured into three phases to guide you through gradual and sustainable weight loss:

  • Phase 1 (Visits #1-4): Weekly visits during the first month for intensive support.

  • Phase 2 (Visits #5-14): Bi-weekly visits from months 2 to 6 to track progress and refine strategies.

  • Phase 3 (Visits #15-20): Monthly visits from months 7 to 12 to ensure long-term success.

What Happens at Each Visit? Every visit includes:

  • Vitals Check & Body Composition Analysis – Monitor your weight, muscle mass, and fat loss progress.

  • One-on-One Counseling (15 min) – Meet with a behavioral health coach, registered dietitian, physical trainer, or physician to receive expert guidance.

  • Medical Support (if needed) – If additional medical attention is required, you may schedule extended visits with a provider (copays or deductibles may apply).

Can You Restart the Program?

If you’re unable to complete the program, you can wait 6 months and restart from the beginning. Additionally, if you complete 12 months but still have a BMI over 30, you are eligible to repeat the program for another year.

Medicare Covers IBT—So Why Wait?

For eligible Medicare patients, this program is covered, making it a low-cost, high-impact way to improve your health and quality of life.
